To join the International Network of Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services, or simply to find out more, here is what you do.


How to join HPH? (Online Process / Normal Process)

To join HPH or renew HPH membership, the Letter of Intent is the official document that must be filled out and submitted for approval. This letter confirms the commitment of your hospital or health service to abide by the HPH Constitution and aim to implement health-promoting activities, strategies and policies. 

Each signed and approved Letter of Intent runs for a period of 4 years. Upon expiration, the letter must be renewed. Renewal is done by filling the letter out once more, but this time checking the "Renewing Member" box. Renewal of membership by this procedure serves to re-affirms the commitment to HPH and also it allows the Secretariat to note any changes in staff, contact details etc.

Why join HPH?

Any hospital or health service wishing to find out more about the benefits and obligations of HPH membership should contact their National/Regional HPH Coordinator. If, however, there is no network in your country/region, you should instead contact the International HPH Secretariat directly:

The Letter of Intent can be found and filled out in a downloadable form, which can then be filled out and submitted to the National/Regional Coordinator or to the International HPH Secretariat via post or email of a scanned copy.

New HPH Members

Any new institution applying for membership must fill out and submit the HPH Letter of Intent, by either of the two methods described above.

Renewing HPH Members

All HPH Members must renew their membership every 4 years by filling out the HPH Letter of Intent again. This can be done by either of the two methods described above.
